WHY I BELIEVE YOU SHOULD HIRE YOUR WEDDING STYLIST FIRST, NOT LAST…
I love it when couples book me as their first supplier. These are the couples are switched on and know that if they have a wedding stylist on board from the off, it’s like having your very own art director.
A wedding stylist/designer like me doesn’t just come and set up your tables on the day…it’s all about creating an event that looks incredible, stays in the memory of your guests and most importantly gets you fired up and excited about getting hitched.
KEEP THE AESTHETIC CONSISTENT
You get access to our little black book of venues, photographers, make up artists, florists, cake makers - this can save you a lot of the leg work and Pinterest research rabbit holes, but ALSO if you’ve worked out what type of aesthetic you’re going for (possibly with a little help from someone - Hello Power Hour consultations!) you can make sure every choice you make WORKS with this in mind.
Part of my role as the stylist can be to formulate a moodboard and concept board that the wedding couples can then use as a brief for other creative and visual suppliers like Florists, Cake companies, furniture hire or even the venue to keep them in the loop about what we’re going for on the day.
THE FREE ADDED VALUE OF USING A WEDDING STYLIST
If we’re on board early (i.e. before you’ve booked ANYTHING!) A wedding stylist can suggest the venue and help you choose between things like a Dry Hire space (where you choose and book all the suppliers, from caterers, to furniture, to music to decor) or a traditional event space set up for weddings. Stylists can give you a list of venues in different areas of the Uk that might suit a cool, industrial feel, a cosy winter vibe, fresh clean cut modern minimalist, or total blank canvas to build your own ‘look’ by layering up your decor.
RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN UK WEDDING SUPPLIERS
Another benefit of utilising a wedding stylist’s contact book is often we may have worked with different suppliers before and know the particular specialism and skill set of another small wedding business.
We stay connected with each on Instagram and in person at wedding shows, and this is how we keep a finger on the pulse and know about the latest wedding products, trends and the services of other wedding suppliers and how they work. A wedding designer like me will be able to tell immediately if that florist you’ve got your eye on will work with your design scheme.
BELIEVE IN THE S YOU’LL BE RELIEVING YOUR STRESS
Not sure what Dr Dre was talking about here but was he referencing Stylists?! LOL, maybe not but one of the key things I bring to your wedding planning is STRESS RELIEF. From the get-go, I’ll be thinking about things that might not occur to a wedding couple attempting to design, style, source and make everything - until the week before the big day = STRESSFUL TIMES AHOY!
