CELESTIAL WEDDING THEME AND DECORATION IDEAS

When I’m at a wedding (as a guest) it makes my heart sing when I encounter thoughtful design touches; a beautiful nameplace or a bit of beautiful decor or styling can bring the space to life and create an unforgettable atmosphere.

The small details like hanging stars can really add up to make an impact.

Real celestial wedding case study: Rachel & Beth

Rach & Beth hand picked lots of cool wedding suppliers as well as sourcing and making a lot themselves too. The vibe was a dark, gothic, moody wedding design which fitted the venue style and period perfectly - check out those dark tudor beams!

Star and Celestial wedding decor

I supplied Rachel & Beth with some of my handmade marbled stars to hang from the ceiling from my re-usable decor range.

The stars pack down completely flat and even the largest can be sent in an A4 size packet - the beauty of maths and angles! (Shout out to my mathematician genius husband who actually helped me work out all the angles and line lengths to make the stars in the first place!)

Once the stars arrived in Liverpool, they popped them up and secured, then hung from the ceiling with trails of fairy lights. Some were placed next to the guestbook and tables too.

Eco-friendly wedding decorations

The great thing about the star decorations is that they’re made from 100% recycled paper and can be recycled themselves. Not that you’ll want to! A lot of stars I’ve created for weddings are then used as home decorations afterwards. I’ve currently got 3 mini black marbled stars in my daughter’s nursery as wall decorations!

These stars can be created using any paper as a base, but for most of my stars and commissions I use my own marbled paper as a base. Let me know if you’ve got a particular colour or texture you’d like made into stars and we can chat. They come in 3 sizes in a unique 8 point design, the largest tip to tip size is 60cm - more intricate and bigger than a lot of those you can find online.

How to install star wedding decorations

All my handmade stars come pre-threaded with string or wire so you can hang to your hearts content, especially as they’re so lightweight. They could be dotted across a ceiling or you could create a top table backdrop as North & Wild events did below on our styled shoot, combining with a banner from Daydreamer Creative Studio.

As mentioned above, they will be posted to you in a flat packet, you simply pop them up and pull them together - all come with full instructions and a free video just in case.

Or alternatively, they look great placed on flat surfaces like your cake table or guestbook table.

You could create a brill photo backdrop by putting lots of stars on one wall. Below is a shot from when I worked with Pink Lamp Weddings at a styled shoot at Canary Shed to create a Midwest America/vegas inspired wedding look.
