MICRO CELESTIAL-THEMED WEDDING SHOOT
Who knows what’s going to happen to weddings in the next year. They might stay micro, they might go bigger than ever as the pandemic situation improves. Whatever size you’re planning, it can still look and feel totally magical.
I was so pleased to be invited to take part in this Celestial Micro Wedding, a styled shoot by North & Wild Events in the North Sky Yurt along with a host of other uk wedding suppliers (see full list at the bottom of the page).
I made some of my original marbled paper 8 point stars and posted them to the stylist to use to create an epic focal point behind the wedding breakfast table.
The marbled stars are easy to ship to anywhere because even the biggest size (60cm tip to tip) completely folds down into one triangle shape that fits into an A4 size envelope and fits through letterboxes! All you have to do is pull the pre-threaded fishing wire until the star shape pops up, tie a double knot and pull until the points meet. Once you’re happy, tie another knot which will keep it all secure.
I’d had ‘make greyscale star’ on my to-do list for ages, so this shoot was a perfect opportunity to take the star shape I’d prototyped (with mega help from my maths graduate husband) and try it in this new dark colourway to tie into the colours of the shoot.
Creating a focal point or backdrop behind the wedding couple and the dinner table can work really well to give the dining part of a wedding a bit of focus - there will be lots of looking and photo-taking so why not create a gorgeous scene like this? Look into hanging things from above to reach all the way down to table height.
For now, the marbled stars are not going to be available in the shop, but will be something I offer to private styling clients or one off commissions. If you’d like to enquire, please get in touch via the contact page
